Her Memoir

Hello again, happy to have you back here with me. I am certain you have been itching to read this blog… Refreshing our page, dying to know when we will release our Susan Saffron Memoir. Well the wait is over. Today I had the opportunity to ask her some more questions about being the Susan Saffron, owning a business for the past four decades, and how hard it is to have a favorite employee.
Okay kidding about that last part, just starting office drama, but between working for Susan these past two years and getting to ask her these questions I really do feel like I have a great insight on her and her passion for what she has built.
I’ll start by painting you a picture. Close your eyes. Okay now open them because you have to read this, silly. It’s Monday morning, your weekend was average at best, you saw some friends, got some rest, but monday always comes faster than you would like it to. You’re sitting at your table in the corner (you’re me), it's 10:40 and the door swings open. The store chirps to alert you that someone has come in but you didn’t need the warning. Susan requires no warning – bright, fabulous, and iconic, standing in the door smiling. Okay now imagine that it's Tuesday, you’re having déjàvu as the exact same thing happens. Now it's Wednesday, and you’re sure today she's gonna have lost a little bit of her sparkle and spontaneity due to the mid-week blues, but no, she swings open the door, same big smile, different but still fabulous outfit, and same joyful greeting to everyone in the store. Sometimes I wonder if she practices in the mirror or if it's just muscle memory at this point, but her smile and the way she glides through the store in the morning to greet everyone is always just too genuine for it to be rehearsed.
Aside from being joyful and fun, Susan is a seasoned leader and business woman who has invested the past four decades into everything here at Susan Saffron. I know I promised you a memoir, so here are just a few brief chapters from The Book of Susan Saffron
Chapter One
Susan’s first encounter with precious stones was on a trip to Thailand. She was working as a flight attendant and exploring the world when she decided to launch a wholesale business importing stones and eventually creating one-of-a-kind pieces for luxe resorts, chic shops, and glamorous trunk shows nationwide. Susan recognizes that her story is far more than luck, but rather God’s gracious provision and sovereignty in her life. She has always had an admiration for beautiful things but never expected to be so blessed to surround herself with them as a career. We’re thankful for her talent and aspirations, and grateful for her luck or whatever you want to call it, but our pocketbooks, however, might use her name as a curse word.
Chapter Two
By 2009, Susan had expanded her influence greatly. She was now leading a family of 5, she and her husband raising their triplets that were eight at the time, and opening a storefront to host her passion for beauty. Since then the store has become much more than just a jewelry boutique. Susan has built and continues to add people to her team that share in her passions but also share in her hospitality. The men and women who work here have strong character and inviting personalities. Susan shared with me during our interview that one of her favorite things aside from designing, is “having people come and building them up and letting them know what they can be.” Her intentionality in hiring and the way she designs roles that emphasize their gifts and strengths, is another attribute of her success. Year after year, Susan and her team curate a collection of pieces that somehow balance being the perfect amount of unique and individual while also being timeless. Her boutique is renowned for turning clients dreams into reality, offering custom jewelry design and repair services, and championing fellow female entrepreneurs like Armenta, and Julie Vos, and her employees are renowned for making work fun and making you want to buy something new. (Our apologies)
Chapter Three
“Oh my gosh, well my customers are my family. That is what I thrive on, that is why I show up seven days a week and do what I do,” Susan responded to my question about her clientele.  You are her source of energy and inspiration. She listens to your stories and your experiences and draws on her relationship with you all to continue creating. Her heart for her clientele has translated into generations of loyal customers that are far more than just clients. She invests in her clientele. From my little table in the corner I am always amazed at how she has the energy to meet and interact with everyone who walks through the door with the same enthusiasm.
Susan and her team have created an irreplaceable environment in the store where the priority is you. If you did not have the chance to read my very first blog, shame on you, but also it is just a testament to the nature of the women who greet you when you walk in our doors. We personally see so much value and sentiment in buying jewelry. Whether it's a gift for a loved one or a treasure for yourself we are always honored to be a part of that experience.
Chapter Four
After fostering her passion for jewelry through the store, and having built a team that highlights and enhances each member’s strengths, Susan came to a place where she had time to begin her own line. In 2022, Trilogy was born out of Susan’s gratitude she has for her family, friends, and faith.
Whether you are honoring a loved one, celebrating a spiritual journey, or marking a significant life event, Trilogy is more than just another accessory. Susan crafts each piece with love and intention and each piece holds deep significance to her, whether spiritual or heartfelt. The pieces in Trilogy aim to serve a purpose when you wear them. Each holding such different reminders but each pointing to the Lord’s promise in Psalm 27:13 that there is “goodness in the land of the living.” Susan’s line celebrates truth and joy which is only fitting now that you know the heart behind her whole business.

Anyways,
She's pretty fabulous and so am I, so keep up with this blog to become fabulous.
